Well, I think we as a little sort of blogging community have stablished the fact that there is no such thing as "normal". But none of us, including me, follow our beleifs.
Why do we wear jeans? They are a trend.
Why do we wear halter tops? They are a trend
Why do we play pianos, guitars, and drums and not ukeleles, banjos, or sitars? They are a trend.
We beleive that we are being ourselves, when really, it is as though we don't even exist as individuals. Who are we? What are we? What do we really like? What are we really like?
We wear jeans because everybody else does. we just want to fit in, right? We're stunting our creativity. We are not letting our true selves shine.
The world is crumbling because creative minds are being witheld by trends in human behavior.
Dont follow trends.

I've heard a similar argument against globalisation- basically, that since cultures are being polluted/destroyed, that the environment no longer exists to create Great Art. An example in the US is how all the great blues music was created 50-70 years ago, because the south was so isolated then, but a similar thing could not happen now, increasingly, there's only One Culture, all-pervasive.
*sigh* i wish i had been left in a cave and never had human contact so that i would know what i was really like.
oh... is it still ok if i think Tom Felton and Orlando Bloom are totally georgious??
YES! Well tom felton is, but orlando? i think orlando bloom is weird lookin.
*yawn* i would be myself, but at this time in my life, i need to as unimportant and invisible as possible. buta t the same time, it's following others that i fear... i am so messed up.
why are you yawning?
I'm sad, Tom Felton is SIX whole years older than me. GOD!WHY IS LIFE SO UNFAIR?! lol.
amen. Kams, you should really read Henry David Thoreau. We're currently learning about his philosophy in GT. (One of the classes that I do NOT fall asleep in btw) and he thinks that we are all so immersed in doing what everyone else is doing that we don't have a chance to live life like we truly want to. He's the guy that went out on his own to live in the woods? Believed that material things got in the way of "finding yourself"? I sort of agree with him, sort of not. And I don't wear jeans becuz everyone else wears them. I wear jeans because they are comfy and blue and even if I was the only girl in the world who liked jeans I would still wear them. end of discussion.
yes, BUT, if u were shut in a cave apart from human civilization for the first 10 yrs of ur life, would you come out wearing jeans and a halter top, wearing earrings and lipgloss? I doubt it.
the same would be true for me. i hate to admit it, but i follow trends in MANY ways.
oh god damn it who freaking cares about being asked out.
everyone at my school besides me. Kam, you, (yes YOU, young lady) should read "The girl who invented Romance"! Now, goshdarnit! It is not a suggestion, it is a command!

when i was talking about the musical instruments, i was saying that everybody does piano or violin or guitar, but SO few people play ukeleles banjos or sitars. do you even know what all of those are?
exactly.
yes, I DO happen to know what those instruments are. Besides, like I said:
1. I love jeans. Even if people started hating me because I was the only girl on the face of the earth who wore them, I'd still wear them.
2. I love halter tops. Not because they are a trend, but because I think they're genuinely more creative than any other top. refer to number 1.
3. about pianos. refer to number 1 and 2.
4. If wearing what I'm comforatable in is what the current trend is, so be it. falalalaalalalalala... there you go.
